Theory exams begin on February 11, 2026, while practical exams start earlier on January 27.

AHSEC Class 12 Exam Schedule 2026
The written examinations will be held in two shifts.
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Afternoon Shift: 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM
AHSEC Class 12 Practical Examination Dates
The Practical Examinations are scheduled to take place before the theory exams.
- Dates: From January 27, 2026, to February 7, 2026.
- Venue: These will be held in your respective institutions (where you registered).

Important Instructions for Students
Before you head to the exam hall, there are a few specific rules and definitions you need to know.
1. Examination Timing Exceptions
While most exams are three hours long, some papers have shorter durations.

Standard Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Morning) and 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Afternoon).

Short Duration (30/50/60 marks): These exams end at 11:00 AM (Morning) and 3:30 PM (Afternoon). This applies specifically to certain Vocational Papers, Music, and Bihu.
2. Extra Reading Time
You'll get 10 minutes of extra time before the writing begins to read the question paper.

Morning: 8:50 AM to 9:00 AM.

Afternoon: 1:20 PM to 1:30 PM.
3. Subject Definitions
The board has grouped certain subjects for clarity:

MIL (Modern Indian Languages): Includes Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Garo, Hmar, Hindi, Khasi, Manipuri, Mizo, Nepali, Urdu, and Karbi.

Advance Languages: Includes Advance Assamese, Advance Bengali, Advance Bodo, Advance Hindi, and Advance Manipuri.

Music Categories:

Group A: Hindustani Vocal, Kathak Dance, Tabla, Violin, Sitar.

Group B: Sattriya Vocal Music (Borgeet), Sattriya Dance, Khol.

Group C: Assamese Folk Music / Assamese Folk Dance. (Theory is common, but practicals differ).

NSQF Subjects: Includes IT-ITeS, Retail Trade, Agriculture, Automotive, Health Care, Electronics, Banking & Finance, Tourism, and Physical Education among others.
