This year, the Board has recorded an overall pass percentage of 85.20%. A total of 18,57,517 students registered for the exam across 19,967 schools and 7,573 centres worldwide.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Girls Outperform Boys Once Again
Girls have once again outperformed boys this year, with a pass percentage of 88.86%, while boys recorded 82.13%. Transgender students achieved a perfect 100% pass rate.

How to Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2026
Students can view their scores by entering their roll number, date of birth, and other login details on the CBSE results page. Once the result appears on the screen, they can download it or take a screenshot to save a copy for future reference.
The Class 12 exams this year were held from February 17 to April 10, 2026, ending with the Legal Studies paper. All exams were conducted in a single shift starting at 10:30 am.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Region-Wise Performance
When it comes to regional performance, Trivandrum has emerged as the top-performing region with a pass percentage of 95.62%, followed by Chennai at 93.84% and Bengaluru at 93.19%. The Delhi West and Delhi East regions also recorded strong numbers, with pass percentages of 92.34% and 91.73%, respectively.

On-Screen Marking System: A Major Shift This Year
A key highlight of this session was the full-scale rollout of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluation. CBSE digitally evaluated more than 9.8 million answer sheets this year — a move that helped eliminate manual totalling and posting errors.

CBSE Class 12 Improvement & Compartment Exam 2026
Students looking to improve their marks or those placed in the compartment category can appear for the supplementary exams, which are scheduled for July 15, 2026. Online submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for these exams will begin on June 2, 2026.
In line with its policy to prevent unhealthy competition, CBSE hasn't released a merit list or awarded divisions this year. That said, merit certificates will be issued to the top 0.1% of scorers in each subject through DigiLocker.

CBSE Class 12 Result: A Look at Last Year's Performance
Last year, 88.39% of students had passed the Class 12 exam. The pass percentage for girls stood at 91.64%, while boys achieved 85.70%.
A total of 17,04,367 candidates had registered for the Class 12 exams in 2025. Out of these, 16,92,794 students appeared for the exams, and 14,96,307 successfully cleared them, resulting in a pass percentage of 88.39%.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: West Asia Exams Update
CBSE had earlier cancelled the exams scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026, in West Asian countries due to the ongoing situation in the region.
For these candidates, CBSE announced an alternative assessment scheme on March 27, 2026. The Board said the policy aims to ensure fairness, reliability, and transparency while maintaining academic integrity.
