Whether you're looking for passing criteria or need details on re-evaluation, this guide covers everything in simple terms.

What Are the Passing Marks for Goa Board HSSC?

To clear the Goa Board Class 12 exams, you need to hit a specific threshold. The board requires a minimum of 33% marks in each subject.

However, there's a catch for subjects with practicals. You must score 33% in the Theory paper and the Practical/Internal Assessment separately. If you don't meet the requirement in either one, you won't be declared "Passed" in that subject.

Understanding the Goa Board Grading System

The GBSHSE uses a point grading scale. This helps universities and employers understand your performance level beyond just a raw percentage.

  • Grade A (90% & Above): Outstanding

  • Grade B (80% - 89%): Excellent

  • Grade C (70% - 79%): Very Good

  • Grade D (60% - 69%): Good

  • Grade E (50% - 59%): Average

Important Note: Students must score a minimum of 33% in both theory and practical exams separately to be declared "Pass."

Not Happy With Your Marks? The Rechecking Process

Sometimes, you might feel your marks don't reflect how well you wrote your exam. In such cases, you can apply for a Re-evaluation or Verification of Marks.

  • Verification: The board double-checks the totaling of marks and ensures no answer was left uncorrected.

  • Re-evaluation: A more detailed process where your entire answer script is reviewed again.

  • How to Apply: You’ll need to apply through the official website within 10–15 days of the result announcement. There's usually a small fee per subject.

What is the Compartment (Supplementary) Exam?

If you didn't manage to clear one or two subjects, don't lose heart. You don't have to wait a full year to try again. The Goa Board conducts Compartment Exams (also known as Supplementary Exams).

  • Timeline: These exams are typically held in June or July.

  • Goal: It gives you a second chance to pass and secure admission for higher studies in the same academic year.

  • Registration: Schools usually handle the registration for these exams shortly after the main results are out. Keep in touch with your school office for dates and forms.
