The annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination for class 10th will begin on February 20, 2024, and will continue till March 4. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE, Odisha), Cuttack said this on Wednesday. State Open School Certificate (SOSC) and Madhyamik examinations will also be conducted simultaneously.

It is noteworthy that BSE has decided to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor the conduct of annual high school examinations this year.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, BSE Chairman Ramashish Hazra said AI-powered cameras will be installed in strong rooms, DEO offices and examination halls. A command room will be manned by seven to eight persons. BSE officials said that if any discrepancies are noticed, the command operators will be informed about it.

BSE also released the exam schedule. The examination will begin on February 20 with the first language Odia paper, while the second language English exam will be held on February 23. Students will appear for Mathematics on 26th February, Hindi/Sanskrit on 28th February and Science paper on March 28th. Social Sciences on March 2, and 4.
Vocational practical examinations will be conducted by OSEPA between January 15 and 31 in the respective schools.
Hazra said the HSC exams will be conducted at 2,991 centers in Odisha, while 5,51,611 students have registered to appear for the exams. 7831 students will appear for the SOSC examination at 55 centres, while 3037 students will appear for the Madhyamik examination at 107 centres.
According to officials, keeping in mind the possible heat, there will be no second sitting in the examinations. BSE sources said the evaluation of question papers will begin on March 15 and is likely to be completed in the next 12 days.
