The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board will publish the results of SSLC and PU II exams in April. The commissioner of the Department of Pre-University Education P.C. Jaffer said that though the department could not confirm the accurate dates, the board has decided to declare the results earlier April.
From this year, the evaluators have to upload marks sheet online. “In the SSLC 2018 supplementary examination, we tried this system and found that it was successful, so this process will be followed for the SSLC exam. However, for the II PU examination, we will follow both the manual method as well as the online system as no trial was done,” the commissioner said at a press meet on Monday. The system is assumed to reduce the errors in uploading the marks, he said.
Data will be entered twice by the evaluator and then by the deputy chief. If there is an error in numbers, the joint chief will get an alert and then the marks will have to be revised,” V Sumangala, Director, Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board said. All those students who had appeared for the examination can check their Result at the FastResult website, after the release.
This year, around 8.41 lakh students have enrolled for the SSLC examination, while 6.73 lakh students for the PU II examination. Last year the PU II exam result was announced on April 30, while SSLC on May 7, 2019.

Some students said that the internal choices did not really help. Many students left a 10 mark paper while some were close to tears. “This is just as bad as Physics,” said Namita, a 12th class student, could say about the paper. Many of her friends agreed that the paper was difficult. She also added that he expected a lenient marking scheme for the paper.
Teachers who glanced over the question paper accepted that the question paper was difficult and not of the level of an ‘average student.’ “Ideally a cbse board examination question paper has about 20 to 30 marks worth of simple and basic questions, another 30 to 35 marks of moderately tough and about 15 marks which tests the competence of the candidates. This paper was more on moderate to difficult level,” Aparna, a teacher with 17 years of experience noted. Another expert agreed with the observation. “After the debacle of Physics paper, especially for science stream students, today’s paper would not be a happy memory. The average score in this year’s Maths paper tends to dip to about 50 from last year’s 60 or 65 range.” A very good candidate, as per the expert, would be able to scale above 70 out of 80 in maths paper.
As for the difficulty level of the various sets, the experts pointed out that the questions were more or less the same. As for the regional difference, the reports are still awaited. Last year too, the CBSE Maths Board Examination question paper had about 15 marks worth of difficult questions.
