Assam Board Result 2021 Update : Assam Boards Announce Class 10th, 12th Result 2021 Formula

1 July, 2021, 3:35 pm

The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) on July 1 announced assessment schemes for HSLC or Class 10 and HS or Class 12 students. This year, results will be calculated with students’ performance in past examinations and other teaching-learning activities conducted by students.

SEBA said Class 10 results will be calculated with a 40:40:20 formula where 40 per cent marks will come from Class 9 annual exam and the other 40 per cent marks will be from Class 10 exams. The remaining 20 per cent marks will be awarded to students by schools. Factors like attendance, internal assessment, etc will be taken into consideration for awarding the 20 per cent marks, the SEBA said.

Schools will have to keep in view their results of the past three years while awarding the 20 per cent marks. The variation should be within 10 per cent, it said.

For schools that don’t have students’ record of Class 10 exams, 70 per cent marks will be awarded from Class 9 and the remaining 30 per cent will be up to schools. The formula will be the same for repeaters, the SEBA said.

For differently-abled students who did not take any exams, it will be up to schools to award them marks, the board said.

For Class 12, the AHSEC has devised two separate formulae.

For subjects that have a practical component, 50 per cent marks will come from average marks in the best three subjects of the HSLC exam. Thirty per cent marks will be from practicals and 10 per cent marks will be awarded by schools based on different activities conducted during Class 11 and 12. This adds up to 90 per cent, it said.

The remaining 10 per cent marks will be based on the 90 per cent. For example, if a student scores 90 marks based on the above formula, he will be awarded 10 marks and so on.

For subjects without practicals, 50 per cent marks will be from the average of best of three subjects of HSLC and 40 per cent will be from internal assessments and other activities during Class 11 and 12. The remaining 10 per cent will be based on this 90 per cent, the AHSEC said.

For vocational subjects, the formula will be 50:40:10, where the 40 per cent marks will be from practicals and the other two components will be the same.

There will be no rank list for top ten students and the highest marks in each subject will not be announced.

For students who want to improve their scores, an optional exam will be held by September 15, if the situation becomes conductive. Otherwise, the optional exam will be held later, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said.

After announcing that the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will conduct board examinations in mid-July, the Assam government on June 18 declared to scrap the exams considering the Covid situation in the state.

Two committees will be formed to devise evaluation criteria and results will be declared by July 31, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said on June 18.

Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dipak Kumar Sharma headed the Class 12 result committee and Dr Alok Buragohain, former Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University and Academic Chairperson of Royal Global University, headed the panel for Class 10 results. They submitted their reports last week.

29 June, 2021, 10:35 am

Madhya Pradesh Board Class 12 students’ results will be declared on the basis of their performance in the best five subjects of Class 10, the School Education Department of the state has said. The MP Board on June 2 canceled Class 12 final exams due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Class 12 marks will be determined on the basis of best of five marks obtained in various subjects of Class 10, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, according to the department.

All students, who had earlier registered for their board exams, will be promoted using this method, an official statement said.

For students who want to improve their scores, they will be allowed to appear in an exam, it said.

Schools in Madhya Pradesh will not open from July 1, the government has decided.

The Supreme Court of India had last week directed all the states to formulate evaluation criteria for Class 12 students in 10 days and announce their results by July 31. Though the MP board has not announced the Class 12 result date, it is expected by July 31.

The Madhya Pradesh government had earlier this month decided to scrap Class 12 final exams conducted by the state board, following the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) announcement of board exam cancellation.

While announcing the decision to cancel MP board 12th exams, the Chief Minister said: “The lives of the students are precious to us. We will worry about their careers later.”

“At a time when students are already worried about the uncertainties of Covid pandemic, we cannot put the mental burden of examinations on them,” Mr Chouhan had said.

25 June, 2021, 10:41 am

The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced the cancellation of the year-end examinations for Class 10 and intermediate on a day the Supreme Court took a serious view of the indecisiveness.

He said a high-powered committee would be constituted to assess the marks to be awarded to intermediate students.

Earlier, the state government seemed keen on holding the exams despite the prevailing Covid situation and a vociferous demand from all opposition parties and parents.

The top court's observations forced the Jagan Mohan Reddy government to cancel the exams, much to the relief of lakhs of students.
