The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced the cancellation of the year-end examinations for Class 10 and intermediate on a day the Supreme Court took a serious view of the indecisiveness.
Education Minister A Suresh told reporters that they decided to cancel the exams as it was difficult to adhere to July 31 deadline set by the Supreme Court for completing the process.
He said a high-powered committee would be constituted to assess the marks to be awarded to intermediate students.
Earlier, the state government seemed keen on holding the exams despite the prevailing Covid situation and a vociferous demand from all opposition parties and parents.
The top court's observations forced the Jagan Mohan Reddy government to cancel the exams, much to the relief of lakhs of students.

This year more than 5 lakh students have registered themselves for the Class 10 board examination in the state.
The Board had cancelled the Class 10 examination due to COVID19 rise across the country. The results will be prepared on the basis of evaluation criteria released by the Board in the first week of May 2021. As per the criteria released by the BSE Odisha, the evaluation of Class 10 students will be done on the basis of Class 9 and Class 10 marks. The board will also consider the performance of a school in the past four years’ HSC exam.

इस साल कोरोना वायरस की वजह से परिक्षाओं का आयोजन नहीं किया गया था जिस वजह से उत्तर प्रदेश माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद (यूपीएमएसपी) 20 जून को यूपी बोर्ड के 10वीं और 12वीं कक्षा के छात्रों को अंक देने के लिए एक फॉर्मूला लेकर आई। यूपी बोर्ड हाईस्कूल रिजल्ट 2021 : हाईस्कूल में कक्षा 9 के 50% और कक्षा 10 प्री-बोर्ड के 50% अंक जोड़कर 10वीं कर रिजल्ट निर्धारित किया जाएगा। इस फॉर्मूले से हाईस्कूल के करीब 30 लाख छात्रों का परीक्षाफल निर्धारित होगा। वहीं हाईस्कूल में 50-50 फीसदी 9वीं व 10वीं कक्षा के प्री बोर्ड परीक्षा के अंक लेकर रिजल्ट तैयार होगा।
गोरतलब है कि यूपी बोर्ड दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा बोर्ड है। इस साल यूपी माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद द्वारा आयोजित यूपी बोर्ड हाई स्कूल और इंटरमीडिएट परीक्षाओं के लिए कुल 56,04,628 उम्मीदवारों ने पंजीकरण कराया था। 29,94,312 उम्मीदवारों ने हाईस्कूल परीक्षाओं के लिए ने पंजीकरण किया था, जिनमें से 29,74,487 (99.34%) नियमित छात्र थे और 19,825 प्राइवेट उम्मीदवारों के रूप में नामांकित हैं। इसी तरह इंटरमीडिएट (कक्षा 12) में 26,10,316 छात्रों ने पंजीकरण कराया था। इनमें से 25,17,658 नियमित हैं और 92,658 प्राइवेट छात्र हैं।
यूपी बोर्ड की हाईस्कूल और इंटरमीडिएट परीक्षा का रिजल्ट निकालने के फार्मूले पर मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की मंजूरी मिलने के बाद आज जारी कर दिया। उपमुख्यमंत्री डॉ दिनेश शर्मा ने बोर्ड रिजल्ट फॉर्मूला तय करने की सूचना दी। डॉ शर्मा के अनुसार उत्तर प्रदेश माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद (UPMSP) की 10वीं और 12वीं परीक्षा रिजल्ट का फॉमूला इस प्रकार है-

वहीं हाईस्कूल में 50-50 फीसदी 9वीं व 10वीं कक्षा के प्री बोर्ड परीक्षा के अंक लेकर रिजल्ट तैयार होगा। यूपी बोर्ड रिजल्ट फॉर्मूले को लेकर मुख्यमंत्री की ओर अनुमति मिलने के बाद बोर्ड अब रिजल्ट की तैयारियां तेज करेगा।
यूपी बोर्ड के इस फैसले से 10वीं और 12वीं के करीब 56 लाख विद्यार्थियों का रिजल्ट बनना शुरू हो जाएगा। एक जून को सीबीएसई की बोर्ड परीक्षाएं रद्द होने के बाद उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने भी इंटरमीडिएट की परीक्षाएं रद्द करने का ऐलान किया था। इससे पहले हाईस्कूल की परीक्षा रद्द की जा चुकी थी।
रिजल्ट निकालने से पहले माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद को इंटरमीडिएट शिक्षा अधिनियम-1921 में भी संशोधन करना होगा। इंटरमीडिएट शिक्षा अधिनियम 1921 के अधीन लिखित परीक्षा के माध्यम से ही रिजल्ट तैयार होने का नियम है। इस नियम को संशोधित करने और अधिसूचित करने के बाद ही रिजल्ट जारी किया जाएगा ताकि कोई कानूनी अड़चन न हो।
उल्लेखनीय है कि सीबीएसई बोर्ड ने 17 जून को 12वीं रिजल्ट का फॉर्मूला घोषित कर दिया था। देशभर में सीबीएसई बोर्ड 12वीं के करीब 12 लाख छात्रों का रिजल्ट तैयार किया जाना शुरू हो चुका है। सीबीएसई ने 10वीं रिजल्ट तैयार करने का फॉर्मला भी जारी कर दिया था।

As many as 3.13 lakh students, out of which 1.72 lakh boys and 1.41 lakh girls are enrolled for regular class and 11,278 are those who appeared for compartment exams. The board exams for class 10 and 12 which were scheduled in April last and May were postponed and later cancelled due to covid-19.
This time there are no toppers among class 10 students.
Board secretary Rajiv Prasad said they have reported 100% pass percentage in class 10 board results and for the first time since the Class 10 board exams started under Haryana board in 1970, there will be no topper.
“A total of 20 marks each have been given on the basis of the student’s performance in the internal assessment and practical marks. If any student gets 40 marks in assessment and practical, he/she will be given 60 marks for theory,” Prasad added.
The board secretary further said they have announced results for compartment students by taking average marks of those subjects which were cracked by them.
Haryana School Education Board (HBSE or BSEH) will declare the results of Class 10 students today, according to local reports. The students can check the BSEH Haryana 10th result 2021 on the official website. The result of Class 10 students will be declared by June 15, the Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal had said. The result of Class 10 is prepared on the basis of the internal assessments.
HBSE Class 10th result 2021 time has not been released yet. The 10th Class result 2020 HBSE was, however, declared at around 9 pm. Apart from the Haryana Board website, the HBSE Class 10th result can also be viewed on some private portals such as fastresult.in. However, students who access their HBSE 10th results from the private portals can cross-check on the official website of BSEH and tally their scores for authentication.
The state government had cancelled the HSEB Class 10 board exams on April 15 which were to be conducted by the state board. In the wake of COVID-19, the state had then decided to postpone the Class 12 board exams.
The state board exams were scheduled to commence in April and continue till mid-May before these were cancelled for Class 10.

In 2020, a total of 87,070 students have failed the Class 10 board exam in Haryana and 32,501 students have got compartment in the Haryana board Class 10 exam. The Class 10 examination was held in March. 64.59% of the total students had cleared the exam. The pass percentage of girls was 69.86 and that of boys was 60.27, said an official statement.
Rishita, from Hisar district, has topped the Haryana board Class 10 exam by securing 100% marks. She is a student of Tagore Senior Secondary School, Narnaund, Hisar.
The overall pass percentage of government schools was 59.74 and the pass percentage of private schools was 69.51.
The pass percentage of students from rural areas was 64.39, while the pass percentage of students from urban areas was 65.
UP Board Class 12 Board exam cancelled. Nearly 26 lakh candidates are registered for the Class 12 board exams in the state.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday cancelled the Class 12 board examination, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saying the health of children is a priority amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Adityanath in which Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who holds charge of the Secondary Education department, was also present.
In a tweet in Hindi, the chief minister said, "In the present circumstances amid the Covid pandemic, the health safety of children is our priority. Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, UP government has decided not to hold class 10 and 12 board examinations."
In a statement issued later, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said “in the wider interest of students and teachers and to regularise the academic session, the examinations of Class 12 of the State Board of Secondary Education have been cancelled”.
Mr Sharma said “the preparations for conducting the examination had been completed, but given the priority of safeguarding the health of students and teachers, the high school examination of the year 2021 was cancelled earlier and today it was decided to cancel the intermediate exam for the year 2021 and promote the students”.
The decision to cancel the exams will benefit 29.94 lakh students of High School (10th) and 26,10 lakh students of Class 12, he said.
He said it has been decided to promote the Class 10 and 12 students, but the is being formula worked out is yet to be finalised.
On the formula for giving marks to students, a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Aradhana Shukla and the final decision will be taken and marks will be given on the basis of the panel’s recommendations, he said.
This decision will help regularise the next academic session and the online classes for students of 11 can be started, he said, adding that those getting promoted from class 12 will also be able to seek admissions in colleges.
Many state boards have cancelled the Class 12 exams after the Union government on Tuesday decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the decision has been taken in the interest of students and that the anxiety among students, parents and teachers must be put to an end.
Haryana government has decided to conduct an internal assessment for Class 12 students of the Haryana School Education Board, based on which the results will be declared soon, Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said. The result of Class 10 students will also be declared by June 15, the minister added.
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation is not conducive for conducting the examination. But if a student wants to take the examination, the examination can be conducted for such students when the circumstances are normal,” Mr Pal said.

The Goa government on June 2 cancelled Class 12 board exams, stating that health and safety of students is their top priority. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the decision will end anxiety among students, parents and teachers. Results of Class 12 students will be prepared as per an “objective criteria”, the Chief Minister said.
“After extensive consultations, it has been decided that the Class 12 exams shall be cancelled, as the health & safety of our students is of utmost priority. This will also help put an end to the anxiety amongst the students, parents and teachers,” Mr Sawant tweeted.
“The results will be declared as per a well-defined objective criteria,” Mr Sawant added.
Earlier today, Mr Sawant said the state government will take a call on Class 12 results by evening. The Goa government will go through decisions taken by other states and also consult the Union Education Ministry before taking a call on Class 12 Goa board exams, the Chief Minister said.
"We have three suggestions before us right now. One is to cancel the exams, the second is to declare results on internal assessment of marks (secured during the academic year) or allow those who are keen on taking the exam to appear for it, and the third is to declare both the results (internal assessment and final examination) together," Mr Sawant said.
Notably, Goa’s announcement of cancelling Class 12 board exam a day after the centre announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 board exams.

Rajasthan’s decision to cancel board exams came a day after the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) announcement to scrap Class 12 final exams amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Evaluation criteria for these students will be announced soon, the minister said.
In view of the apprehensions of the third wave of Covid-19, it has been decided to cancel the Class 10 and Class12 board examinations of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) in the meeting of Rajasthan Council of Ministers today in the interest of students. A decision regarding the marking scheme will be taken soon,” Mr Dotasara tweeted in Hindi.
Scheduled to begin in May, Rajasthan board 10th, 12th exams were postponed in April after a meeting between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra. The state government had also promoted students of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 to the next higher classes without exams, amid the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier today, former CM Vasundhara Raje had called for cancellation of RBSE board exams.
“Considering the feelings of the teachers and family members of the students, RBSE should take an appropriate decision on examinations at the earliest,” Ms Raje said.
“Irrespective of the health of the students during the stressful times of Covid, students cannot be forced to appear for the exam,” she added.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) will conduct board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 students in July. The exams will be held between July 1 to 16, an official statement said. Board exams for both Class 10 and 12 will begin on July 1. On the first day, Class 12 Science students will appear for the Physics paper. Class 10 students will write first language papers – Gujarati, Hindi,Marathi, English, Urdu, Sindhi, Tamil,Telugu, Odia.
As many 1.40 lakh students of science stream and 5.43 lakh of general stream (arts and commerce) are expected to write the Class 12 board exams, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama had earlier said.

Earlier today, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 board exams were cancelled, after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The CISCE on Tuesday decided to cancel Class 12 board examinations this year in view of the COVID-19 situation, according to its secretary Gerry Arathoon. "The exams have been cancelled. The alternative assessment criteria will be announced soon," Mr Arathoon told PTI.
The decision by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) came on the lines of cancellation of the board exams by CBSE, which was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It was decided that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students as per a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
The prime minister asserted that the decision has been taken in the interest of students and that the anxiety among students, parents and teachers must be put to an end.
The CICSE had last week asked its affiliated schools to submit data, including average of marks obtained by Class 12 students in Class 11 and during this session.
The board had postponed Class 12 exams which were scheduled from May 4 in light of the devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
