Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Board Practical Exam 2024 is still in confusion. Many schools across the country were forced to cancel the practical examinations of Class 12 and Class 10 today, scheduled to be held on January 11, 2024. The portal to upload CBSE Exam Sangam marks did not open.
Top schools in Delhi NCR had to call students and reschedule practical exams scheduled to be held today. The exams were postponed and the dates were revised as the portal was not opened yet.
For those unaware, schools conduct practical exams and internal exams for classes 10 and 12 which have 20 to 70 percent weightage in the final result. These Class 12 examinations require an external examiner. The marks obtained by students in these examinations will be geo-tagged and uploaded on the CBSE portal on the official website.
Due to CBSE delays, the opening of the portal was postponed to January 11, 2024 (earlier it was scheduled to open from January 1). While teachers and schools were already struggling to find dates to schedule the exams, the board sent a notice late last night informing that the portal would be opened today afternoon.
“We have to be mindful of delays. Every day is important and cancellation of exams is always stressful for students. I know of at least 15 schools that had to cancel exams scheduled for today. We also canceled two practical exams of economics and chemistry today,” shared Ms Singhal, CBSE coordinator at a top school in Delhi.
Similar stories were reported on the groups by multiple teachers, bemoaning scheduling errors and delays.
“We have lost a good 10 days due to the board's delay,” he said. The dates of theory exams will not change and students need to focus on their revision. Such delays are unfortunate,” shared Ms. Malini, mother of a Class 12 student.
As per the latest update, CBSE Pariksha Sangam portal will be opened today afternoon for uploading practical/internal assessment marks of class 10 and 12. Schools are being cautious and not confirming tomorrow's date.
CBSE 10th 12th Board Exam 2024 for theory paper will start from February 16, 2024. Around 38 lakh students from across the world have registered for the CBSE board exams this year. The board results are expected to be released by the end of May.
