ICSE, ISC Board Exams 2021 Update : ICSE ISC Class 10th, 12th Board Exams 2021 Postponed

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has postponed ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) final exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the light of the second wave of COVID-19, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has postponed ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) final exams. The ICSE final exams were scheduled for May 4 to June 7 and ISC or Class 12 final exams started on April 8. The COVID situation will be monitored closely and a final decision on these exams will be taken in the first week of June 2021, the council said.

While ISC final exams will be held later, Class 10 or ICSE students will have the option to take their board exams offline. They can also choose not to appear in the offline exam, the board said.

Class 10 students who do not appear in offline exams will be evaluated based on an alternative assessment method.

“In view of the ICSE (Class 10) candidates opting for the second option, the CISCE will develop an unbiased criterion while preparing the result of such candidates,” an official statement said.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on April 14 postponed its Class 12 exams and cancelled Class 10 final exams. CBSE had said it will develop an “objective criterion” to evaluate and promote Class 10 students.

Soon after CBSE’s announcement, students from schools affiliated to the CISCE started asking for a similar decision for their board exams.

Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive and Secretary, CISCE, had informed Careers360 that a decision for Class 10, 12 students will be taken soon.

"The CISCE board will take a decision regarding its ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations 2021 at the earliest and will inform all concerned afterwards," Mr Arathoon had earlier said.

A decision on ICSE board exams 2021 will be taken soon. NEET PG 2021 has been postponed. States like Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan have cancelled board exams 2021.

In the wake of the pandemic situation prevailing in the nation, many states have either cancelled or postponed Class 10 and 12 board examinations. Telangana SSC exams have been cancelled and Inter exams have been postponed. The UP Board exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12 have been postponed till May 20. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) 2021 has also been postponed until further notice.

CBSE Class 10 board exams have been cancelled and Class 12 board exams have been postponed. Class 10 board results will be prepared on the basis of the objective criterion developed by the board. Class 12 students will be given a fresh date sheet before the beginning of the papers.

Gujarat GSEB Class 10 and Class 12 exams have been postponed. The examinations were set to be held from May 10 to 25. Gujarat government has also decided to promote students of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 without any examinations. 

Haryana Board Class 10 board exams students will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment. The Class 10 board exams scheduled to begin on April 22 have been cancelled and Class 12 exams have been postponed.

Punjab board exams 2021 for Class 10, 12 have also been postponed.

The Odisha government too on Thursday decided to postpone Odisha Class 10, 12 board exams 2021.

The Telangana Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Class 10 exams have been cancelled and the Intermediate Class 12 exams have been deferred because of the surge in COVID cases.

The Chhattisgarh Board Of Secondary Education (CGBSE) on Friday 9 April postponed the Class 10 examination due to a spike in COVID-19 cases. The secondary exams were scheduled to be conducted from April 15 to May 1. "Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur has postponed the board exams starting from April 15, 2021, for class 10th, keeping in mind the growing transition of Corona in the state and lockdown in many districts," Chhattisgarh Chief Minister's Office tweeted.

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to postpone the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. New dates will be decided in May after reviewing the coronavirus situation.

Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the deferment of Classes 10 and 12 practical examinations in the wake of the rising COVID-19 cases in the state. The JAC had already begun the practical exams for Classes 10 and 12 on April 6. No announcement has been made so far on the conduct of theory examinations.

The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday postponed the ongoing state board exams for Classes 10 and 12 in view of the rising COVID-19 cases, state education secretary Rajeev Sharma said.

Maharashtra, the state government has decided to postpone SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) final exams. Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said the present situation is not conducive for holding exams and the government will write to other boards, including CBSE and ICSE, to reconsider their exams. Class 12 board exams in Maharashtra will be held in by the end of May and Class 10 exams will be held in June. Earlier these exams were scheduled for the last week of April.

 

Telangana Board Exam 2021 Update : Telangana SSC (Class 10th) Exams Cancelled, Inter (Class 12th) Exam 2021 Postponed

Telangana Secondary School Certificate (TS SSC) exams have been canceled and Intermediate (Class 12) exams have been postponed due to the present COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state, special chief secretary to the government Chitra Ramchandran said. Class 10 students of Telangana will be evaluated on the basis of “objective criteria”, which will be developed by the Telangana SSC board. For Class 12 or Inter exams, a decision will be taken in the first week of June, after reviewing the COVID situation, and students will be informed at least 15 days prior to the commencement of exams.

Intermediate first-year students will be promoted without exams. “Exams will be held whenever possible at a future date”.

The decision came a day after the central education board, CBSE, announced the cancellation of Class 10 exams and the postponement of Class 12 final exams.

For Class 10 students, details of the objective criteria will be announced later and students who remain unsatisfied with their results will be given another chance to clear the exam when the COVID-19 situation improves, an official statement said.

Intermediate final year students with backlogs will get minimum passing marks for those subjects.

Twenty-five percent weightage for Telangana’s entrance exam, TS EAMCET, will not be considered this year.

The CBSE on April 14 canceled Class 10 exams and deferred Class 12 exams. The decision to cancel Telangana SSC exams is in line with the announcement made by CBSE.

For evaluating Class 10 students, CBSE will develop an “objective criterion”. According to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, the criterion will be based on internal assessments and practical exam marks. CBSE, however, said that the method has not been decided yet.

After CBSE’s decision, many states, including Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Gujarat have postponed their board exams.

Maharashtra had earlier postponed SSC and HSC exams. After CBSE’s decision, School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said CBSE’s move to cancel Class 10 exams will be studied and further decisions will be taken.

 

UP Board Exam 2021 Update : Uttar Pradesh Board Classes 10th, 12th Exams 2021 Postponed

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to postpone the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. New dates will be decided in May after reviewing the coronavirus situation.

Due to a steady increase in COVID-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to postpone Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations and said that the new dates will be decided in May after reviewing the coronavirus situation. For students of Classes 1 to 12, classroom teaching will remain suspended till May 15. No exam will be held during this period, the government has said. The UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be held after May 20 and the new time table will be decided in the first week of May.

This is the second time the UP board exams have been deferred this year. The state government had earlier postponed the exams to May 8. The board exams were originally slated to begin on April 24.

On April 14, the Centre has decided to cancel the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 exams and defer for those in Class 12. Soon after the decision of the Central Government came into force, several states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and, Himachal Pradesh have also postponed the examination to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Last evening, Uttar Pradesh reported a massive 20,510 fresh COVID cases, its highest even caseload in a 24-hour period. The state also reported 68 deaths, but anecdotal evidence from cremation grounds especially the ones in Lucknow suggest the numbers are being under-reported. Active infections in the state have now crossed the 1 lakh mark, with state capital Lucknow accounting for 1/3 rd of the active cases.

 

Haryana Board Exam 2021 Update : Haryana Government Cancels 10th Board Exam, Postpones Class 12th Board Exam 2021

The Haryana Government has decided to postpone Class 12 exams and cancel Class 10 board exams 2021 in light of rising COVID-19 cases. The decision to cancel its Class 10 board exams and postpone Class 12 board exams comes after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the cancellation of its board exams for Class 10 students and postponement for those in Class 12.

The Board of Secondary Education, Haryana (BSEH) had already released secondary and senior secondary board exam admit cards. Haryana Class 10 board exams were scheduled from April 22 to May 15 and Class 12 final exams were to be held from April 20 to May 17. Previously, the board had also altered the timings for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams.

While the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled its exams for Class 10 and postponed those for Class 12, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra have postponed their state board exams in view of the rise in active COVID-19 cases. However, The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said they were monitoring the situation and will soon decide whether to go ahead with the board exams. Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh said they will conduct the exams as scheduled. Meghalaya as well said it is ready to hold the state board exams for Class 12 but will take a decision on Class 10 exams after they review the ongoing coronavirus situation.

The students of CBSE Class 10, whose exams have been cancelled, will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment. However, if students are not satisfied with the marks obtained in the internal assessment, they can also appear for the examination once the situation arising out of COVID-19 becomes normal.

 

HP Board Exam 2021 Postponed : Himachal Pradesh Classes 10th, 12th Board Exam 2021 Postponed

The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday postponed the ongoing state board exams for Classes 10 and 12 in view of the rising COVID-19 cases, state education secretary Rajeev Sharma said.

In a communication, the education secretary also said that the undergraduate university examinations, due to start on April 17, have also been deferred.

The situation will be reviewed at the government level on May 1 and further directions will be issued accordingly, Mr Sharma added.

The development came on a day the CBSE canceled its Class 10 board exams and postponed Class 12 exams.

Himachal Pradesh's COVID-19 infection count reached 72,319 with 925 fresh cases and the state reported 13 more fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,135 on Wednesday, an official said.

The hill state's Special Health Secretary Nipun Jindal said six infected people died in Kangra, three in Shimla and two each in Mandi and Una districts.

The active cases in the state stand at 6,929. Meanwhile, 250 people recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours, Mr Jindal added.

MP Board Exam 2021 Update : Madhya Pradesh Class 10th, 12th Board Exams 2021 Rescheduled, To Be Held In June

Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has postponed the high school, higher secondary, higher secondary vocational, diploma in pre-school education, physical training correspondence examinations by one month. These examinations will now be started from the first week of June 2021 and will be conducted till the last week.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, Madhya Pradesh has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams along with other correspondence exams by a month. The exams were earlier scheduled to be held between April 30 and May 1. The MPBSE board exams 2021 were supposed to begin from April 30 for Class 10 and from May 1 for Class 12.

This has been done to avoid any over-crowding around the exam-centres and increase the risk of spreading infection.

"In order to avoid spread of COVID-19 infection in the state and over-crowing of students around the schools and examination centres, the department has decided to postpone the exams scheduled between April 30 and May 1 for a month", the state edcuation department said.

It further said that, "The exams will now begin in the first week of June and will be conducted till the last week of June. The complete board exams date sheet will be released later".

On April 6, Madhya Pradesh School Education Department announced that it will be conducting Class 10 and Class 12 pre-board exams in both offline and online mode in the government schools.

The students can appear for the exams at home or through the online examination portal. The Classes 9 and 11 students who will be appearing for their final exams can also exercise a similar option.

The state government will promote the students of Class 1 to Class 8 to their next classes on the basis of a class project.

On March 30, the Madhya Pradesh government announced that all schools in the state up to Class 8 will remain shut till April 15. Earlier, on March 4, a decision was taken to shut these schools till March 31.

 

MP Board Exam 2021 Update : MPBSE Class 10th & 12th Board Exams 2021 Postponed

The State government has extended exam dates of the MP Board class 10 and 12 exams which are scheduled to be organized from April 30. The school education department will issue fresh dates of the exam in the next couple of days. School education minister Inder Singh Parmar told that exams will be conducted after May 30.

School education minister Parmar said that due to the rising corona infection in Madhya Pradesh, it has been decided to extend the exam dates. Class 1 to 8 to be closed till June 15, 2021.

"Ongoing situations do not allow us to organize the exam on scheduled dates. We will issue fresh dates in the next few days," said Parmar. He added that practical exams are also extended. "We have instructed the officials to conduct exams by May 15," said Parmar.

Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said the present situation is not conducive for holding exams and the government will write to other boards, including CBSE and ICSE, to reconsider their exams. Class 12 board exams in Maharashtra will be held in by the end of May and Class 10 exams will be held in June. Earlier these exams were scheduled for the last week of April.

“Given the current #COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we’ve postponed state board exams for Class 10th & 12th. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority,” Ms Gaikwad said on social media.

Ms Gaikwad today said the decision to postpone these exams has been taken after consultation with education stakeholders, representatives of political parties, and others.

“During the consultations, various alternative assessment options were evaluated keeping the health, well-being and future of our students in mind. Postponing exams seemed to be the most pragmatic solution,” the minister said.

The Maharashtra School Education Minister said last week that the government is mulling alternative methods to evaluate board exam students.

“I have a clear idea that some parents and students are uncomfortable about the board exams in view of the growing COVID cases. I am consulting with student representatives, tech giants, parents, teachers and other experts regarding alternatives for assessment of HSC and SSC board students,” Ms Gaikwad had said, adding that students’ safety is the foremost priority of the government.

For Classes 1 to 9 and 11, Maharashtra has already announced promotion without exams.

राजस्थान आठवीं बोर्ड परीक्षार्थियों के लिए बड़ी खुशखबरी है। छात्रों, शिक्षकों और अभिभावकों की मांग को स्वीकार करते शिक्षा विभाग ने परीक्षा के समय में बदलाव कर दिया है। अब छात्रों को मई की दोपहर की गर्मी में परीक्षाएं नहीं देनी होंगी। बदले परीक्षा कार्यक्रम के मुताबिक परीक्षाएं सुबह 8.30 बजे से 11 बजे तक होंगी। समय के साथ पेपरों की तारीखों में भी बदलाव किया गया है। अब एग्जाम 5 मई से शुरू होंगे, जबकि पहले के शेड्यूल में 6 मई से शुरू होने थे।

राज्य के शिक्षा विभाग ने इस फैसले की जानकारी ट्वीट कर दी। विभाग ने लिखा - ''राज्य सरकार के निर्देशों पर विभाग द्वारा 8वीं कक्षा के परीक्षा कार्यक्रम में संशोधन किया गया है। अब कक्षा 8 की परीक्षाएं संशोधित समय यानि सुबह की पारी में आयोजित होंगी। इस फैसले से लाखों विद्यार्थियों को बड़ी राहत मिली है।'

गौरतलब है कि कुछ दिनों पहले पंजीयक शिक्षा विभागीय परीक्षाएं राजस्थान, बीकानेर ने 8वीं बोर्ड परीक्षाएं 6 मई से 25 मई तक दोपहर 2 बजे से शाम 4.30 बजे तक निर्धारित की थी जिसका काफी विरोध हो रहा था। शिक्षकों और अभिभावकों का कहना है कि मई में दोपहर की गर्मी के समय 8वीं के बच्चों का परीक्षा देना बेहद अनुचित है। इसके बाद शिक्षा विभाग ने 8वीं बोर्ड परीक्षा के समय में बदलाव के लिए राज्य सरकार को प्रस्ताव भेजा था। पंजीयक शिक्षा विभागीय परीक्षाएं, बीकानेर ने मई माह में अत्यधिक गर्मी को ध्यान में देखते हुए आठवीं बोर्ड की परीक्षा दोपहर की बजाय सुबह की शिफ्ट में कराने के लिए राज्य सरकार से इजाजत मांगी थी। राज्य सरकारी की मंजूरी मिलते ही शिक्षा विक्षाग ने आठवीं बोर्ड परीक्षा की नई डेटशीट जारी कर दी।

 

MPBSE Board Exam 2021 Update : Madhya Pradesh Classes 10th, 12th Admit Cards 2021 Released

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has released high school (Class 10), higher secondary (Class 12), higher secondary vocational final exam admits cards. School principals can download admit cards from the official website. MPBSE Class 10 exams will begin on April 30, 2021, and the MPBSE Class 12 exams are scheduled to start from May 1, 2021.

School principals will download the admit cards, sign and distribute among students. Any error on an admit card can be corrected through the MPONLINE portal till April 15, by paying a fee, the board said.

The board had previously reduced the syllabi of Class 10 and Class 12 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, the board announced that students will have two options – online and offline – to appear for the upcoming pre-board exams in the government schools.

Students can appear for the exams at home or through the online examination portal. Classes 9 and 11 final exam students will also get this option, the board had said.
